FACE-ing Incarceration is an online art exhibit that showcases art submissions created by incarcerated people in Washington state. The name of this website is meant to reinforce the idea of putting a face to incarcerated people.
As you browse through the exhibit, you can click on the photos of the artwork and read the descriptive text underneath. All artwork displays and descriptions reflect the original submissions. In the few cases where changes were required to be made in accordance with DOC policy, we have noted this in the description below the artwork, and we have received permission from the artist to post the work in its altered form. Any information that has not been explicitly given by the artist has been left blank.
